Learn How to Dance Dancehall 2022
Do you remember how important it was to learn how to ride a bike? It’s kind of like that. The first thing you need to do is learn how to dance, and that starts with learning some basic steps, as well as practicing your movements slowly before stepping up your pace.
After you get comfortable with those movements, try putting them together—that’s where you’ll see results! When teaching yourself dance moves, patience is key. You will make mistakes; don’t let those mistakes discourage you! Just keep on trucking—you’ll get there eventually!
One of my favorite resources for learning moves (and keeping them fresh!) is 2GranTv Dancehall Video on his‘ YouTube channel. How to Dance In Jamaica
He has an array of videos broken down into easy-to-understand categories and techniques, including several general warmup videos with fun steps that are perfect for any occasion! His most popular videos are in two categories: Dancehall Mixes & Dance Videos and Dancehall Mixes 2022.
I highly recommend checking out these playlists if you want to learn more about dance moves as well as prepping yourself for local/international shows.
Make sure to take breaks when needed; like exercise or any other skill, repetition makes improvement possible but exhaustion doesn’t necessarily lead to improvement! If you feel winded or burnt out while trying new moves, go slow until you regain your strength, then pick back up at a lower speed.
